Questions & answers
Frequently asked questions
Bond cleans, post-build cleans, supplies, insurance, pricing and access - the things people ask us most before booking a clean.
Bond & deep cleans
What does a bond clean include?
The full end-of-tenancy checklist: inside the oven, hobs and rangehood, inside all cupboards and drawers, walls spot-cleaned and marks removed, windows inside with sills and tracks, bathrooms descaled and sanitised, and all floors vacuumed and mopped. We work to what property managers actually inspect, and you see the written checklist before we start.
How does the bond-back guarantee work?
If your property manager flags anything from our checklist at the final inspection, we come back and re-clean it free of charge. Let us know within the inspection window (usually a few days after the clean) and we will book the return visit straight away.
Is oven or carpet cleaning included, or extra?
An oven deep clean is included in every bond clean and available as an add-on to any other clean. Carpet shampooing is always an add-on, priced per room, because it needs separate gear and drying time. Both are listed on your quote so there are no surprises on the day.
What is the difference between a deep clean and a regular clean?
A regular clean keeps a tidy home tidy: kitchen, bathrooms, floors, surfaces. A deep clean is the reset button - it adds skirting boards, doors and frames, window sills and tracks, light switches, extractor fans and behind furniture we can move. Many customers start with a deep clean, then keep it up with a regular schedule.
Post-build & renovation
What is a post-build clean?
It is the clean that happens after the builders finish and before anyone moves in. Construction dust gets everywhere, so we go top to bottom: ceilings, tracks, joinery, inside every cupboard and wardrobe, plus paint spots, silicone smears and the stickers left on windows and appliances. We take the debris away with us.
Do you do renovations as well as new builds?
Yes. A renovated kitchen or bathroom throws just as much dust through a house as a new build does, and the rest of the home usually needs a full clean too. We quote the whole affected area, not just the room that was worked on.
When should a post-build clean be booked?
Once every trade is finished and off site. If painters or floor layers come back afterwards the dust comes with them, so we would only be doing it twice. Talk to us early about dates though - handover weeks book up fast.
How we work
How does pricing work?
You pay per visit, at a fixed price we agree before we start - no hourly surprises. The price depends on the size and condition of the place and the kind of clean, which is why we do a quick walkthrough (in person, or a video call for simple jobs) before quoting.
Do you bring your own supplies and equipment?
Yes - cloths, chemicals, vacuum, mop, the lot. If you prefer us to use your own products (for allergies, surfaces or personal preference), just say so and we will.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry public liability insurance, so your home or office is covered while we work. Happy to show the certificate on request.
Do recurring cleans cost less?
Yes. Weekly and fortnightly cleans are priced lower per visit than one-offs, because a regularly maintained home takes less time each visit. We will quote both so you can compare.
What areas do you cover?
SHEER CLEAN covers Bay of Plenty - mainly Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa, Te Puke, though that list is the towns we are in most days rather than a limit. Every service we offer - regular home cleans, deep cleans, end-of-tenancy bond cleans, post-build cleans, commercial cleaning, and windows and exterior washing - is available across the whole area. Not sure if you are in range? Ask - if we can get there, we will.
Do I need to be home? How do you handle keys and access?
You do not need to be there. Most regular customers give us a key, a garage code or a lockbox pin, which we log and store securely. For the first visit and for bond cleans we like someone there at the start and the end for the walkthrough, but it is not required.
Who does end-of-tenancy bond cleans in Tauranga?
SHEER CLEAN does. We do bond cleans across Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa and Te Puke, working to the checklist property managers actually inspect, and you see that checklist in writing before we start.
Do you clean houses in Papamoa and Mount Maunganui?
Yes. SHEER CLEAN cleans homes right along the coast - Papamoa, Mount Maunganui, Tauranga and Te Puke - on regular weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedules as well as one-off deep cleans.
Do you do commercial and office cleaning in the Bay of Plenty?
Yes. SHEER CLEAN cleans offices and commercial spaces across the Bay of Plenty, scheduled around your business hours rather than through them.
Who does builders cleans after a new build in Tauranga?
SHEER CLEAN does. We do post-build and renovation cleans across Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Papamoa and Te Puke - construction dust, paint spots, stickers and debris removal, so the place is ready to hand over.
